I'm Akin

I am an Engineering Leader, CTO, and Systems Architect with over 15 years designing, scaling, and modernizing high-impact platforms across Fintech, CPaaS, eCommerce, Agriculture, and GovTech. My career spans Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, where I have built and led teams delivering mission-critical systems used by millions of people and dozens of institutions at national scale.

I have architected and led the rollout of groundbreaking digital systems across multiple countries — including national subsidy platforms, enterprise omnichannel communication systems, mobility revenue assurance infrastructure, multi-country payment platforms, conversational AI commerce systems, and microservices architectures operating at 550+ TPS. My work has influenced government operations, strengthened food systems, improved financial inclusion, and powered enterprise customer experiences across Africa and the Middle East.

As Co-Founder & CTO of Afrimash, I engineered the company’s multi-channel agriculture commerce ecosystem, serving 100,000+ farmers. I built the AI-enabled Afrimash Virtual Advisor (AVA), the USAID-backed Rural Agent Network, and an Oxfam-endorsed traceability system that reduced supply-chain fraud for low-income farmers. Under my technical leadership, Afrimash secured $400,000+ in grants from USAID, GIZ, RMI, and Oxfam.

As Senior Engineering Manager at Unifonic (UAE/KSA), I led globally distributed CPaaS engineering teams building enterprise-grade messaging, authentication, orchestration, and customer-engagement systems. I delivered Flow Studio, a low-code automation engine; scaled event traffic from 2M → 10M+ daily; modernized CI/CD; and spearheaded the company’s AI-powered engineering acceleration initiative.

At Cellulant, I played a key engineering role in building the GES e-Wallet, Africa’s first national-scale digital subsidy distribution platform—an initiative led during the Agricultural Transformation Agenda and credited with eliminating systemic fraud while delivering support to millions of farmers. I also architected the Tingg multi-channel payments ecosystem powering financial inclusion across multiple African countries.

As the independent architect behind DriveIQ (Exchange Telecoms), I built the real-time mobility compliance and revenue assurance platform used by the governments of Lagos, Abuja (FCT), and Rivers State, generating billions in verified state revenue. This platform is now scaling into Ghana and other African regions.

My contributions have earned recognition from globally respected institutions —including USAID, Oxfam, GIZ, RMI—and led to my receiving the UAE Golden Visa for Extraordinary / Specialized Talent, awarded to individuals who have reached the very top of their fields.
